You're sold and ready to dive into making Finabulous Finao ONE digital albums. There's just one question...

How do I design my album?

You have a couple of choices.

[ Do-it-yourself ]

If you are tech savvy and just need to know the specs to get yourself started? The next few questions are for you. Check out the many compatible template offerings from our Playmate partners or use our blank .PSD sizing templates for pages and image covers.

Do you check files?

Finao DOES NOT color correct customer files. All file prep is the customer's responsibility. Download our file prep guide for detailed instructions.

Do you require a specific software?

NO! Finao ONE albums can be designed in any software or template program you are most comfortable using as long as you can output the completed design file as a high resolution (300 dpi) JPEG.

Should I design in spreads or sides?

For a flush mount album you will always design and print as spreads even when you are ordering the cut print option. If we print as a spread, we are assured the two sides will be a perfect match. Each page or spread in your album should be saved as a separate file and numbered according to order of appearance.

What size should my spreads be?

Files should be sized for the exact album size that you are doing. For example, a 12x12 inch album would be designed as a 24x12 inch spread. The first and last pages for right-start albums would be individual 12x12 inch images. Undersized files will not be accepted.

Is there a safety margin?

Designs should be configured with a 3/8 inch safety margin inset from the outside edges. We do trim all finished books. Make sure that no type or critical elements fall within the 3/8 inch safety margin. We do provide blank Photoshop templates to get you up and running quickly and the Style Guide for Page Design is a must read for everyone.

What resolution should my files be?

All files need to be sRGB AT 300 DPI. We print in sRGB color space.

How should I number my files?

Please follow a standard numbering convention (i.e., 0001, 0002, etc.).

Is there a maximum number of pages?

The maximum for medium style pages is 50 leaves/100 sides.
The maximum for thick style pages is 32 leaves/64 sides.

How do I upload my files?

When your design is complete, including any images that will be needed for cover designs, you will be given the chance to upload your files right with your order. You will arrange the thumbnails into the order they should appear in the book directly in the order form.
